Hi— how are you doing ? For those who came on the trip to the Tate Modern with me, I hope you enjoyed it. We caught the train to London Bridge, then walked to the gallery — passing historic landmarks like Shakespeare's Globe (which has the only thatched roof allowed in London since the Great Fire) and Borough Market — London’s oldest food market, with roots going back over 1,000 years (first mentioned in 1276; relocated to its current site in 1756). Once at Tate Modern, we checked out the Nigerian Modernism exhibition — and then had some free time to explore other exhibits (and the gift shop — haha).

After student voice, we know that you love a trip — do email me and let me know where you think would make a good and enriching trip next.

World Aids Day

Today is World AIDS Day, a day to remember those who have lost their lives to HIV/AIDS, support those living with it, and raise awareness about prevention and treatment.

For too long, shame and stigma have surrounded HIV/AIDS, making it harder for people to get tested, treated, or even talked to about it. The truth is: anyone can get HIV, regardless of age, gender, or background. That’s why it’s so important to speak openly, educate ourselves, and support each other without judgment.

This year at Station Plaza, we’re going big for LGBT+ History Month in February, where we’ll continue the conversation and talk more about HIV/AIDS, raising awareness and helping everyone learn the facts.
