Skills Week is a programme of employability-focused workshops and activities designed to help you build confidence, develop essential career skills, and explore future pathways.

International Women’s Day 2026
WEAR IT PURPLE Day on Monday the 9th of March.
You can also come and share a piece of Knowledge in The Refectory 12pm-1:15pm on Monday 9th of March to help us create our “Heart of Knowledge”.
Chinese New Year
This 15-day celebrations end on the evening of March 3 with the Lantern Festival. It marks the beginning of a new year on the traditional lunisolar calendar and transition of the zodiac.
It will be the Year of the Horse.

Hampden Park station Footbridge Refurbishment
From Saturday 7 February until mid-April, there will be no footbridge available at Hampden Park station.
Take Ten Today
Head to the library and read for 10 minutes once per week to collect stamps.
After completing your loyalty card, you can redeem it for a free drink.

This year at Eastbourne Campus we are celebrating intentional women’s day on Monday 9th of March.
We are encouraging all to participate in the WEAR IT PURPLE Day on Monday the 9th to show our support to women not just here at college but all over the world. Come in your most purple items of clothing, that could be a jumper, headband or even shoes!

OPPORTUNITY TO BE A MODEL FOR LEVEL 2 BARBERING COURSE
Opportunity to be a Model for assessments as well as other services in their Monday Salon (Open 9:30am-12:30pm).
Open to Staff and Students.
They are their to provide services such as Men’s Cutting, Beard trims, Wash style and Treatments.

HAMPDEAN PARK FOOTBRIDGE REFURBISHMENT
From Saturday 7 February until mid-April, there will be no footbridge available at Hampden Park station.
To cross between the two platforms at the station, you will need to use an alternative walking route, at street level, via the nearby level crossing on Brassey Avenue/Mountfield Avenue and Station Approach. This involves a walk of approximately 330m.
Signs will be in place to show you the alternative walking route.
TAKE TEN TODAY
Any time, any day, take 10 minutes to read once a week and get a stamp on your loyalty card from the Library Team.
How it works:
Come to the Library to choose from a selection of great books and reading resources.
Read for 10 minutes.
Collect a TAKE TEN Reward Card from the Library desk. Get a stamp for each week that you read towards a free drink.
*Maximum of one stamp per week.
