Happy Pride Month! 🌈
Pride Month is a time to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, honor its history, and continue the fight for equality. It began in remembrance of the Stonewall Riots in June 1969—a courageous act of resistance that helped launch the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement.
Pride is still deeply important today, especially with the ongoing fight for trans rights and equal treatment for all. It's a reminder that real change often comes from brave people standing up—like the suffragettes or leaders of the Civil Rights Movement—who refused to stay silent in the face of injustice.
But Pride is also about joy, community, and self-expression. Everyone is welcome at Pride—it’s a space where different communities come together to celebrate, connect, and be fully themselves.
This year’s celebrations will feature amazing performances, including Mariah Carey and Sister Sledge at Brighton Pride, making it a day full of fun, music, and love.
Whether you're LGBTQ+ or an ally, Pride is for you. Join in, show your support, and help make the world more inclusive for everyone. 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
