    • East Sussex College, Kew Wakehurst and Southern Rail are inviting 13–19-year-olds to design lanterns inspired by “What would nature look like if it glowed?”

    • Winning designs will be created as illuminated sculptures and displayed on the Glow Wild trail at Wakehurst, seen by thousands of visitors.

    • Head to the library and read for 10 minutes once per week to collect stamps.

    • After completing your loyalty card, you can redeem it for a free drink.

YOUNG CREATIVES INVITED TO LIGHT UP GLOW WILD 2026

East Sussex College has teamed up with Kew Wakehurst and Southern Rail to launch an exciting design competition, inviting 13–19 year olds to create lantern concepts inspired by the theme “What would nature look like if it glowed?”. Winning designs will be brought to life as illuminated sculptures on the renowned Glow Wild trail at Wakehurst, giving young artists a rare chance to showcase their work to thousands of visitors.

Key dates:

  • Submission deadline: Friday 5th June 2026

  • Winners notified: Tuesday 23rd June 2026

Any time, any day, take 10 minutes to read once a week and get a stamp on your loyalty card from the Library Team.

How it works:

  • Come to the Library to choose from a selection of great books and reading resources.

  • Read for 10 minutes.

  • Collect a TAKE TEN Reward Card from the Library desk. Get a stamp for each week that you read towards a free drink.

    *Maximum of one stamp per week.
