Your next step after college? You might be surprised what's possible.
You're in your final year of college. UCAS applications are underway, everyone's talking about their next steps, and you're probably getting asked what you're planning to do next.
But have you thought about studying for a degree right here at East Sussex College?
We offer degrees and higher-level qualifications across everything from Art and Design, Music and Film to Business, Computing, Engineering, Health and Early Years.
And on Thursday 12th November, from 3.45–6.45pm, we're opening the doors at Station Plaza in Hastings so you can come and see what it's all about.
A different university experience
Imagine studying for a degree in smaller classes, with lecturers who know you, specialist facilities to develop your skills and the flexibility to work alongside your studies.
That's what studying higher education at East Sussex College can look like.
Our degrees are validated by university partners including the University of East Anglia (UEA), so you can work towards a recognised university qualification while enjoying the supportive, hands-on environment of a college.
And there's some interesting research behind this approach.
A study published by the Office for Students in March 2026 found that 69% of graduates who studied higher education at FE colleges felt prepared for life after graduation, compared with 50% of university graduates.
Our own students are really positive about their experience, too. East Sussex College's 2026 National Student Survey results placed our university courses among the highest-performing providers in Sussex for student satisfaction.
Come and see for yourself
There'll be plenty happening around the campus, including:
- Clay workshop: Have a go at working with clay alongside our Designer Maker students and lecturers.
- Explore the gallery: See artwork produced by students across our creative degree courses.
- Meet our students: Chat with lecturers, current students and graduates about their courses and where they've taken them.
- Get UCAS-ready: Find out how to apply, understand student finance and get advice on your next steps.
- Enjoy something to eat: Our catering students will be preparing canapés, with Coast Restaurant and its licensed bar open during the evening.
There'll also be talks covering different subject areas, so you can find out more about the courses you're interested in.
