    What could we do better?

    • Vending machines are sometimes empty, could they be stocked more regularly

    • We would like to celebrate the end of year by going on a trip such as Thorpe Park

    • The lockers are very old, quite a lot are broken and don't look nice

    • Better equipment for us to work with- pasta machines and piping bags with more variety of nozzles

    • Evening service run late- we would like to finish at 9pm as sometimes we finish later than 10am

    • Toilets are still being vandalised so we don't like to use them

    • Advise on apprenticeships.

    • Students feel the changing rooms have very little ventilation and do not like the fact people can see you get changed. Changing rooms have been refurbished to meet student needs

    • Water is very murky and it needs a filter - tastes very odd. This has been fed back to technicians, new water softeners are being fitted and should be completed within the next week.

    What could we do better?

You Said: We need some more equipment as we don’t have enough to go round Ie: scales, chopping boards, wooden spoons

We Will: Complete a stock take and order what is required so that students have enough equipment to work with

You Said: The lockers, both male and female are too small and not enough seating in the area, often messy and not cared for

We Have: Contacted the estates team so that they can review the space and the seating area within it, we will also ask the carpentry department to make up some bespoke seating for students to use.

You Said: We would like more trips and college activities on offer.

We Have: Provided students with the option to complete work experience abroad in Malta this year. However, we will continue to increase enrichment opportunities such as masterclasses and external work placement.

You Said: Level 2- We need to work better with the front of house students so that we serve food on time and the correct food is produced for customers

We Have: Realised that you need more support in the kitchens during service therefore we have arranged for a selection of Level 3 students to support in the kitchens and over the pass- they will support and mentor you.

You Said: You would like more vegan dishes on the menu.

We Have: Planned to introduce more options into the delivery of vegan foods and include food options such as Tofu and Quorn

You Said: Changing room needs Digipad to stop others accessing it and leaving it in a mess.

We Have: Added a Digi code lock onto the changing rooms so that it is more secure.

You Said: On a Thursday you would like a break between Tutorial & Theory (Group X)

We Have: Added a 15-minute break at 3.45-4.00pm between tutorial and theory.

You Said: You would like more competition work (like a cook off)

We Have: Already planned for a cooking competition to take place this term and will plan for a final competition at the end of the year.

You Said: Some learners find sharing the well with pathways uncomfortable as the pathways students can sometimes be disrespectful.

We Have: Liaise with the Pathways tutors to re-address the code of conduct whilst in and around the building to improve this.
